Renaissance Festival Murder Trial Postponed

It could be May before the second suspect in a Renaissance Festival murder goes to trial.

The trial of Jonathan Damuth was supposed to begin last week in Anderson, but it was postponed due to a family emergency with the defense attorney. Damuth is charged with the October 2004 death of 23-year old Spring resident Brandon Smith.

Smith was a sailor home on leave from Norfolk Virginia when he was stabbed 20 times in the parking lot of the Renaissance Festival. The first to stand trial in the case was Brent Nolan who is currently serving a 55-year prison term following his conviction.
