Brenham ISD to Expand Drug Testing

By: KBTX Staff

Band members at Brenham High School will soon be subjected to random drug tests.

Monday night, school board members voted unanimously to approve expanding its drug screening policy.

School officials don't believe there is a drug problem among its band members, but instead consider the move a proactive approach to drug prevention.

Student athletes at Brenham ISD are already tested randomly.

Testing the band will cost the district an estimated $2,400 a year.
