Iraqi Market Bombed, 15 Dead

By: Associated Press

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Iraqi police say two car bombings near a Baghdad market have killed 15 people.

A spokesman says the first bomb exploded in front of an ice cream shop. A second bomb detonated minutes later as people were rushing in to help the wounded. At least 40 people were hurt.

The bombings came after several other attacks in Iraq. At least six Iraqis were killed in a coordinated twin bombing in Tikrit near a police recruiting facility.

And the US military says one American soldier was killed in a roadside bombing near Baghdad.
