Prosecutors in the James David White Capital Murder trial put their star witness on the stand Thursday.
Lonnie Turner Junior testified against the man accused of killing his father Lonnie Turner Senior at their Navasota home in 2002.
The defense says Lonnie Junior forced White to kill his father for money.
On the stand, Lonnie Junior told jurors that he has thousands of dollars in savings and has been financially stable his whole life.
Lonnie Junior also gave a detailed account of where he was the night of his father's murder.
The prosecution argues that cell phone records prove Lonnie Junior could not have been involved in his killing.
Jurors also heard the 911 call that Lonnie Junior made when he says he discovered his father's body.
Lonnie Juniors testimony will continue Thursday.
The defense has not yet had its chance to question Lonnie Junior.
