City Employee Run Over, Man Flees

A city of College Station worker is recovering after being run over by a hit and run driver early Sunday morning, and the suspect is in jail following a dramatic chase.
It happened after 3am the Northgate Parking Garage where several city code enforcement officers were trying to detain the suspect for an earlier hit and run incident at the garage.
Rolando Blanco, 26 of Bryan has been charged with fleeing the scene after running over one of the officers with his Jeep Wrangler.
Police say a witness chased Blanco and called 9-1-1 allowing both bryan and college station police to get in the chase.
It ended on Old College Road where the jeep spun-out.
The suspect fled on foot but was captured with the help of a K-9 unit.
The city will not release the identity of the code enforcement officer, but say he suffered cuts to his head and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
