It was a sea of red at the College Station Hilton Thursday morning, as women turned out in large numbers to join the fight against heart disease.
The Go Red for Women Luncheon is held each year to inspire women to take control of the most serious health problem they face today: cardiovascular diseases.
Those in attendance wore red to show their commitment to the fight against heart disease and stroke.
"It's just a day for women to just learn and get educational information about ways they can basically love their heart," Dedra Nevill, the Go Red Co-Chair, said.
Nevill added, "Heart disease is the number one killer of women".
Money raised from the event benefits the American Heart Association.
