A newborn child is found dead in a dumpster at Sam Houston State University Wednesday. The infant still had the placenta attached and was discovered inside a garbage bag.
The dumpster where the baby was found is located behind Sam Houston Village, a freshman co-ed dorm. The report came in to University police around seven pm. According to University Relations it was students who called in the incident. The infant was declared dead at the scene, an autopsy has been ordered. Right now the child is at a funeral home in Huntsville. Police say they have no leads. They are questioning students who live in the area. If you have any information call (936) 294-1794.
