Heat Illness In The Brazos Valley

The Brazos Valley was flirting with record high temperatures Saturday and Sunday could be even hotter.

Saturday afternoon, EMS had perhaps it's first call of the year for heat exhaustion. A 22-year-old man fell victim on his first day on the job on an oil rig. That individual is being treated.

Because we're not use to the heat, medical personnel say heat exhaustion and stroke can creep up on you. They say take in plenty of water before heading outdoors and during your outing. At the first sign of illness, head for the shade or preferably, indoors.
