After raising more than $2 million in less than five months, officials with Save Our Streets Ministries have announced the completion of the first phase of a building campaign that will include a 24-hour ministry center.
Construction is slated to begin by this fall on a 20-acre site located on Grosebeck Street in Bryan.
The initial building project will include 15,000 square feet. Future phases will include creating a full-court gym and additional classroom space for life skills and vocational education.
The center will house programs for children, teenagers, and adults and include a half-court gym and office space.
Construction is expected to begin late this summer or in early fall and should be completed during 2009.
