By: KBTX Staff

A Robertson County grand jury got its first look at evidence in the case of a former Bremond Superintendent accused of taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from the school.

An audit of the school's finances showed Kenneth Johnson took close to $200,000 from the district for personal expenses.

Johnson has not been charged with a crime, however, he resigned in October 2003 after the district's financial problems started coming to light.

Bryan Attorney, Jim James has been heading up the investigation as a special appointed prosecutor.

James said the grand jury will likely meet again in a couple weeks.
