Public Viewing of Lunar Eclipse Cancelled

Cloudy skies forced the Brazos Region Astronomy Service Society and the Brazos Valley Astronomy Club to cancel the lunar eclipse viewing session planned for tonight at Veterans Park in College Station.

The total eclipse of the moon will begin at 9 p.m. The next total lunar eclipse visible from Texas will be in 2010.

The Brazos Region Astronomy Service Society is one of 15 groups in Texas that are part of NASA's Night Sky Network, which provides the public with astronomy experiences. For more information, contact BRASS coordinator Dr. Dennis Utley at Blinn College at (979) 209-7505 or dutley@blinn.edu.
