A man tried to rob a Bryan bookstore around noon Saturday, but gave up after a clerk fought back with a baseball bat.
It happened during the lunch hour at Cavitt Corner Used Books store in the 2100 block of Cavitt Street. Police say a black male came into the store and held his wrapped hand up to the head of the clerk and demanded money. It's not known if a weapon was used by the suspect.
The clerk refused and told the man to leave. After several requests by the man, she grabbed a baseball bat. That's when the man ran away.
Police were still looking for the suspect late Saturday.
