Fatal Accident

A three year old boy was killed after a car pulled out in front of the family's minivan at the corner of Highway 47 and Villa Maria.

Investigators say the minivan took evasive action to avoid a collision, forcing it to roll over. The three year old boy and his car seat were ejected seperately through the van's window.

Police say Kyle Miller was pronounced dead. Three others in the van were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The other vehicle was driven by a 72 year old woman. Toshiko Bessette and her occupants were taken to the Med, also with minor injuries.

All of those involved were Bryan residents.

Investigators speculate the car seat may have been improperly installed.
They are also trying to determine why the driver of the Saturn pulled out in front of the van.

The accident was one of many at the Hwy 47 and Villa Maria intersection. Bryan Police say funding has been approved for an overpass there...but it could be several years before completion.
