Brazos County authorities are on the hunt for a missing set of jail keys. Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk says the keys went missing from the jail floor on May 22nd after they weren't turned in on a shift change.
That evening authorities locked down the jail and initiated a search of all the inmates and their cells but the keys didn't turn up.
There are three keys involved and Sheriff Kirk says none of them allow direct access to any of the cells.
While he says there's not that great of a security risk, if the keys aren't found, all of the doors in question will need to be re-keyed.
Internal affairs investigators are conducting interviews with jail workers as the investigation continues.
