Army Reacts to Allegations

By: Lindsay Liepman

The army is speaking up about alleged recruiting misconduct at the Brenham recruiting station.

Friday the army released a statement saying ''Now that an impropriety investigation is underway, the only thing we can say for the time being is we are investigating the allegations and we can not comment further until the investigation is complete. But we can assure the public that we will take all allegations seriously and investigate every allegation and take appropriate action as needed upon completion of the investigation."

George Owens says his son Joshua was told to lie about an injury on his Army paperwork, and was threatened by recruiters when he tried to back out of his commitment.

Owens also says his son is training as a scout in the infantry division but his contract was for entrance in the Army's dental program.

That investigation could be complete as soon as next week.
