Authorities Search South Brazos County for Fleeing Driver

A search is on for a driver who refused to stop for Brazos County constables, then fled on foot.

Around 5 p.m. Wednesday evening, Constable Archie Clark says a truck was doing around 73 mph in a 55 mph zone. When authorities attempted to stop the driver, he continued on and took roads towards the community of Millican in South Brazos County.

The pickup slid to a halt on Wellborn Road just south of FM 159. Clark says the driver jumped out of the car and made it into the thick woods nearby.

Constables with help from Grimes County's search dogs combed the woods, but couldn't find the man, who may be armed.

An investigation is underway, and a warrant for the man's arrest could come as early as Thursday.
