Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, across the Brazos Valley, Saturday afternoon and evening. Winds in excess of 40-60mph are the main concern, within the strongest activity. An isolated, brief tornado threat cannot be ruled out. Heavy rainfall between 1" and 3" has the potential to cause localized flash flooding in a few locations.
A former Mayoral candidate in Hearne is in fair condition today after crashing her truck into a fast food restaurant.
It happened just before 5pm Monday when police say Kathy Stracener crashed her truck into the McDonald's in Hearne.
Stracener was airlifted to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
All employees and customers, most of whom were children, have been released from the hospital with minor cuts and injuries.
McDonald's has opened its drive through window, but the main lobby will remain closed until repairs are complete.
Police are investigating whether or not a medical problem may have caused Stracener to lose control of her truck.
Stracener ran for mayor in Hearne back in 2003.
