A local businessman decides to sell his bar before it could be taken away.

The owner of the Canyon bar located at Post Oak in College Station has sold the establishment to a Fort Worth man.

A hearing was scheduled in Waco for next week in which a judge could have decided to shut the bar down or temporary suspend the liquor license.

But after numerous run-ins with TABC including several citations and employee arrests, the current owner says he is willingly turning in his liquor license.

Once all the paper work is processed the hearing will cancelled and the case settled.

The Canyon will remain open this summer, but will not be serving alcohol. Instead teen nights will be hosted until the new owner takes over.
