An internal investigation is over and a Brazos County Sheriff's deputy, who's gun went off at a local bar, has been placed on leave without pay.
Deputy Marianna Guerrero, who was off duty at the time of the incident, was placed on 2 weeks unpaid suspension and 6 months probation.
Sheriff's officials say Guerrero's .40-caliber pistol accidentally fired in her purse last month at the Ptarmigan Club.
Sheriff Chris Kirk said he is confident it was an accidental discharge.
No one was injured, but the building was slightly damaged.
Texas law allows peace officers to carry weapons while off-duty.
