Huntsville's city council hopes changes to a dangerous intersection will make pedestrians safer.
They say, the intersection at 17th street and Sam Houston Avenue has become more accident prone because of all the students crossing the street.
The city and TX-DOT have decided to make 17th street a one- way from Sam Houston Avenue to University. Parking will not be allowed on the side of 17th street from Sam Houston Avenue to Avenue M.
The changes will take effect sometime this fall.
