Twin City Mission, Bryan Strike Deal

As Twin City Mission looks to move its operations, the City of Bryan has now entered the process.

A $2.1 million deal with the city will go towards the purchase of the mission's current downtown property, along with the relocation of the facility.

"The city's announcement reflects their commitment and support to what Twin City Mission does for the community," said Ron Crozier with the mission.

Twin City began in 1963 as a place of help for the homeless in the community, but its services have expanded over the years, including clothing and food services, along with Phoebe's Home, which serves as an emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence.

Recently, the mission purchased property at Sims and 31st Street.

Even with the money from the city, more than $3 million are still needed for the mission to make its move. A capital campaign will get underway in the near future.
