Huntsville's Mayor Finally Decided

Video will be available shortly

The runoff election held today was between a newcomer to city politics and another who called himself a pro-growth choice, but the city of Huntsville finally has a new mayor.

Architect J. Turner received 1440 votes to former council member Vance Howard's 1039 votes. Percentage-wise, Turner garnered 58 percent of the vote. Turnout was considered large.

The position opened up with then-Mayor Karl Davidson resigned last year. Huntsville's mayor pro tem has been filling the position in the meantime.

Just one vote separated Turner and Howard in the May regular election, with each candidate receiving 33 percent of the vote.
