Texas Avenue has a temporary name change for a very special lady.
Bryan and College Station renamed the street Sister Gretchen Kunz Parkway in honor of the long time St Joseph Health System President.
Signs are posted at the corner of University and Texas as well as William J. Bryan and Texas.
"Well it's remarkable. It's quite an honor. I can hardly believe that it's really happening. It's an honor and I know it's only for a day and I just hope it doesn't confuse anybody," said Sister Gretchen.
Monday is Sister Gretchen's last day as President and CEO but she has already started in her new role with the St Joseph foundation.
Jack Buckley Jr. is taking over her old job.
