A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect until midnight for Lee County. Strong thunderstorms will continue to be possible, across the Brazos Valley, this evening. Winds in excess of 40-60mph are the main concern, within the strongest activity.Heavy rainfall between 1" and 3" has the potential to cause localized flash flooding in a few locations.
A Bryan elementary school is trying to help families displaced by last week's fire, at the Bryan Arms Apartments. Three of the families have children enrolled at Henderson Elementary.
Henderson is currently accepting donations of basic household items the families might need for their new homes. Things like silverware, cookware, pillows and blankets may be dropped off Friday at the Henderson Elementary front office.
Henderson students will also compete in a dollar day on Friday. The class who brings the most dollars will win a popcorn party Friday afternoon.

Jane Long Middle School is also trying to help one of its own. The school is hosting a faculty-student basketball game tomorrow at 3.
The 30 minute game is open to the public. Admission is 1 dollar, with the proceeds going to a displaced family.
