On Tuesday, March 11, 2008, beginning at 8:30am, the Texas
Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) contractor will begin a series
of operations on Texas Avenue at the locations of George Bush Drive and FM 2818. The contractor will be performing milling of the existing
pavement, sealing the milled areas, and repaving the milled areas with
new hot mix pavement.
Various lane closures will be in place for this work to be done.
The work will last this week and go into the next week until completed.
Police officers will be controlling traffic at the George Bush and FM
2818 intersections of Texas Avenue when work moves into those areas.
Delays are to be expected until this work is completed. An alternate
route should be taken in order to bypass the construction.
TxDOT appreciates everyone's patience and asks for
increased awareness of construction activities in and around the area.
This construction is part of the $17 million dollar widening project of
Texas Avenue contracted to Knife River.
