A Bryan woman is dead after investigators say a piece of metal debris crashed through the windshield of a pickup and hit her head.
DPS troopers say the victim, 33-year-old Tracey White from Bryan, was in the passenger seat of the Chevy pickup headed eastbound on Highway 21 in northeast Brazos County. At the same time an 18-wheeler was heading westbound on Highway 21.
Investigators say an angle iron apparently came off the trailer of the 18-wheeler. The piece of iron crashed through the windshield of the pickup and then struck White. White was taken to the hospital where she died
The driver of the pickup, 35-year-old Charles Robert, was not injured.
The 18-wheeler did not stop. DPS did not say if the 18-wheeler driver will face charges. Right now, DPS is asking any witnesses to contact Bryan Texas Highway Patrol office at 979-776-3101.
