Three Bryan Victims in Stabbings, Beating

Bryan Police Investigators worked all day Sunday on two separate and vicious stabbings that sent three people to the hospital with serious injuries within minutes of each other.
In a bizarre case on the city's westside, police received a 9-1-1 hang-up call from a phone at a Highway 21 convenience store about 4:30am. They found 62-year-old Estainslado Reyes with numerous stab wounds. He managed to tell police about his wife at their home around the corner on Vincent Street. That's where police discovered 64-year-old Inosencia Reyes, who had been badly beaten.
Investigators later determined it all started when three men pulled up to the house and demanded help with their car which stopped running. When the woman refused, they beat her. The suspects got into the house and were told to leave by Mr Reyes. They left and Reyes went to call police from the store. But, the suspects spotted him and stabbed him repeatedly, apparently after the call to 9-1-1.
Police have arrested Michael Lopez, 19, of Bryan on multiple charges. His bonds total $300,000. More arrests are pending.
Meanwhile, Mr. Reyes was listed in serious condition at St. Joseph late Sunday night. His wife is listed in fair condition.
Thirty minutes after responding to that stabbing, Bryan police headed to a four-plex on Poplar Circle. They found a man in the stairwell with stab wounds to his face, neck, chest, abdomen and leg. Frank Landen, 34, was rushed to the hospital in serious condition. Landen's landlady says he moved in just two days before.
Nathan Dirk, 24, of Bryan is jailed on bonds totaling $500,000. Police are not sure what prompted the stabbing.
