The following is an Associated Press story from Tuesday, March 11:

Pain at the pump has never been so severe. The national average for retail gasoline prices has hit a record of nearly $3.23 a gallon, according to the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The White House says that soaring oil prices are "not going to be solved overnight" and that "it would be wrong" of President Bush to promise otherwise.

Presidential spokeswoman Dana Perino said Tuesday on Air Force One that "there are some things we cannot do."

Her comments came as oil prices rose above $109 a barrel for the first time. They are up from $87 a barrel in January.

Its amazing to see how many people dont understand what controls gas prices. I am sure just about everyone here complaining about the gas prices are the same people that oppose drilling in Alaska, Florida, and so on.

Shell regular 3.169 Open up the remaining 85% of US oil fields for drilling. The bugs, fish. trees, and animals have no use for it.

Bryan for over 25yrs has had the best price on gas. Some of the station are in high crime areas. The station next to me was hit 3x in 3 week in the day time. He now has bulletproof glass inside the store. Us pay at the pump. High price bring alot of money in the store and crime.

Good Gosh! This is not a gripe board. It's here for us to find out from each other where the cheapest gas is. Lets not be so petty. There is an Ind. Gas station(name escapes me right now) on Texas Ave in Bryan, North of the School Dist offices and before you hit Hwy 21. It was selling gas for $3.11. Krogers sells it for $3.15. If you have one of there cards and buy lots of gas they'll sell it to you to $3.05 a gallon. Cmon, lets help each other out here :))

Posted by: Ann Location: College Station on Mar 12, 2008 at 01:22 PM
Since this website was to share information on where gas is the cheapest, I want to let everyone know that I bought Shell gas at the station at the corner of William Joel Bryan and Texas Avenue today for $3.12. That's the cheapest I saw. I suppose Kroger might be cheaper with a Kroger card, but didn't check that. I'm not going to rant about the price of gas, but share what I found!!
