Brazos Valley residents had plenty of activities lined up to celebrate the 4th of July.
In Navasota a red, white, and blue parade was held downtown.
The parade included people walking their dogs, children on bikes and others decked out in red, white, and blue. The festivities continued with a carnival complete with games, a moon walk, and swimming.
Over in Millican, cooks got up early this morning. Not to fire up the grill, but the griddle for a pancake breakfast. The breakfast was held to raise money to renovate the historic community center. Diners enjoyed sausage, watermelon, and of course a hot stack of flapjacks.
And in College Station, some families decided to get the 4th started with some morning exercise. The first annual 4 on the 4th fun run took place at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex. A few dozen friends and family gathered and ran or walked 4 miles around the park. Participants say they had fun and worked up an appetite for their afternoon barbecue.
