Scott and White officials say services won't be interrupted as a result of more than 40 layoffs in College Station.

Officials say most of the positions aren't directly related to patient care and none includes nurses.
They say the 42 positions are primarily administrative such as records and lab personnel.

A consultant recommended reducing $70 million by scaling back what was initially 300 jobs systemwide. On Wednesday, officials announced only 200 jobs will be affected.

Scott and White System officials say they will be adding more physicians and research scientists.
Norma Adams, associate executive director for human resources at Scott & White's Temple location confirms no new positions will be added in College Station.

Dr. William Rayburn, medical director of the College Station clinic says the changes will "improve our organizational efficiency and overall performance."
