The 272nd District Courtroom of Brazos County was packed Monday morning as Travis Bryan III was sworn in as judge.
The Honorable Tom McDonald performed the ceremony while family, friends and colleagues looked on.
Bryan, a local defense attorney, was appointed to replace Rick Davis, who resigned to run for district attorney.
Judge Bryan's term will expire at November's general election, in which he is the only candidate for the position.
