If you'd like to support some local heroes headed to Afghanistan, Tuesday's the day to do it.
The Army Reserve's 420th Engineer Brigade, based in Bryan, will leave its reserve station on Carson Street at 7:30 a.m.
Buses carrying more than 130 soldiers will head down Texas Avenue and then University Drive to Easterwood Airport.
On Saturday, a pre-deployment ceremony was held for the soldiers and their families.
In Afghanistan, the brigade will spend the next year improving roads and conditions at area military bases.
