Texas Rescue Team Heads Toward Storm

Victims of Hurricane Dennis will get help from Texas in the form of Texas Task Force One.

The 28-member search and rescue team along with six support personnel left College Station this morning en route to Meridian, Mississippi.

Texas Task Force One trains here through the Texas Engineering Extension Service, and is capable of responding to mass casualty disasters. The highly-skilled members responded to Hurricane Ivan's aftermath last September along the Alabama Coast. The group searched and cleared more than 500 structures then.

This year's deployment site in Mississippi will allow the team to respond to some of the hardest hit areas.
