White House Refuses Comment on Rove

By: Associated Press

The White House still doesn't want to talk about Karl Rove.

President Bush didn't respond when a reporter asked him directly Tuesday if he'd fire his adviser. Bush had promised last year to fire anyone who leaked a CIA officer's identity to the media.

Newsweek has obtained an e-mail by a Time reporter who was threatened with jail for not naming his sources in the CIA leak story. According to the e-mail, Rove told reporter Matthew Cooper that the woman "apparently works" for the CIA.

Federal prosecutors have the e-mail. They are hunting down leakers inside the Bush administration.

For the second day, White House spokesman Scott McClellan refused to answer questions about Rove.
