A multi-million dollar power plant could be coming to Milam County.
Constellation Energy Group has plans to build the $900 million facility outside of Rockdale in the Alcoa Industrial Complex.
This week, the company asked commissioners for a 75 percent tax abatement for 10 years.
If the abatement is granted, the county stands to gain about $3 million in new tax revenue.
The project would also include agreements with local contractors.
A public hearing has been scheduled for Monday, July 18 at 10am at the Milam county courthouse.
