A group of students from Texas A&M University at Qatar is visiting College Station this week.
The Qatar Aggies are here to learn more about their counterparts and about life at Texas A&M University.
It's a follow-up on a visit a group of Texas A&M students made to Qatar during spring break.
The students took a tour of the campus Tuesday, and for many of them, it's their first trip to Aggieland.
"It's just good to be around here and it's just beautiful," Bashir Sinno, a student at Texas A&M University at Qatar said. "It's filled with brand new buildings and buildings that have been there for 130 years. It's just amazing to have the chance to be here."
Another student commented on the fact that two women were the very first graduates from Texas A&M at Qatar since the university opened its branch campus in Doha in 2003.
"It's just that difference overtime beginning where women didn't have the rights to do anything and now we can be as equal as men," Texas A&M University at Qatar student Mary Annaketvh said.
Annaketvh said it's a misconception that women are treated differently than men in Qatar.
The students will be on campus through Friday. While on campus, the Qatar students will meet with President Murano and tour campus facilities. The visiting engineering students will also meet Texas A&M engineering faculty and students, be hosted for dinners and ice cream socials, see a demonstration of the Visualization Lab, visit the living history farm at Washington on the Brazos, tour Kyle Field and other athletic facilities and the Benjamin Knox Gallery. They will attend other events and have an opportunity to interact with students, faculty and staff.
