There will be no referendum on the College Station hotel-convention center project.
That's the decision by the city council Monday as they decided against a public vote. Council member Ron Gay initiated the referendum proposal.
The city did submit its first convention center project to a public vote back in the 90's. Voters approved it, but that was when the project was supposed to be built at Wolf Pen Creek.
