Police officers and DPS troopers were deluged with major accidents on Sunday. Thanks in part to slick roadways, one of those wrecks turned deadly.

The accident happened six miles south of College Station.

According to witnesses, a woman driving a Ford Explorer in the southbound lane of Highway 6 lost control of her vehicle and hydroplaned into oncoming traffic.

The Explorer was then T-boned in the opposite lane by a Ford Crown Victoria with two women inside.

The collision left all three women pinned inside their vehicles until emergency crews arrived on scene.

All three women were sent to College Station Medical Center listed in critical condition.

The most seriously injured woman died later, she's been identified as 43 year old Deanna Thomas of Ranger, Texas.

The other two women, all from out of town, remain in serious condition.
