Several Bryan firefighters will soon be moving back into their home away from home, after mold forced them out a week ago.

Wednesday, a mold expert from Austin visited fire station 3 and confirmed that mold spores were only found behind the shower facilities, not in the living spaces, or engine bays of the facility.

Meaning, after some clean-up, the firefighters can move back into the Briarcrest location.

"We're going to move the firefighters into a trailer behind the station, and they're going to respond out of the engine bays, which means by tomorrow they'll be back on this side of town," Bryan Fire Chief Mike Donoho said

Chief Donoho says he has asked station three firefighters to report any kind of sickness they feel could be related, but so far no one has come forward with any concerns.

"The mold consultant told us yesterday if there were any health concerns they probably would have arisen by now," Donoho said.

Lets hope the city of Bryan doesn't get the trailers from FEMA! Otherwise they will have a whole other set up illnesses to look forward too!

First, have the checked the attic for mold as well? Please tell me that the professionals checked the entire station, and not just where the plumber found mold. Also, have you seen the trailer that they are putting these men in? How many men can "live" in that small construction office trailer? How many bedrooms? Oh my gosh, from the road the windows look broken too. Guess you want to stick grown men in kid bunkbeds next huh? Come on people, take care of your firefighters. "Duff" is right...re-build #3 and #4, upgrade your stations. Admin doesnt have to "live" in these stations a 1/3 of their lives, our firefighters do!

The City of Bryan should just build a new Station 3 and 4. Station 3 is a dump and station 4 is practically a suburb of Hearne.
