Human West Nile in Montgomery County

The state's second confirmed human case of West Nile Virus has popped up in Montgomery County.

Officials from the State Health Services say an unidentified resident has contracted the neuroinvasive form of the virus, which can result in paralysis, coma or death.

The other human case of West Nile Virus was confirmed last month in Swisher County in the Panhandle.

Earlier this week, West Nile was found for the first time this year in Brazos County.
Both a blue jay and a crow found in College Station tested positive for the virus.
