A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Madision, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, & Washington Counties until 8am Saturday morning.
All Bryan/College Station hurricane shelters are full.
There are more than 6,800 evacuees in 32 shelters throughout the twin cities.
There are also an unknown number of guests staying in local hotels or with friends and relatives.
Evacuees still traveling toward Bryan/College Station are being diverted to Austin on State Highway 21.
Because of a fuel shortage throughout the area, residents are urged to stay home and stay off the roads if possible.
Walker and Washington County are not accepting anymore out of town evacuees.
Leon and Burleson County are each housing over 1,000 evacuees and also have shelters for local residents who need them.
Robertson County has temporary shelters set up for its special needs residents.
Madison County has several places for residents who need to seek sturdy shelter Friday night.
