Brazos Valley School Districts are opening their doors to Hurricane Rita evacuee students.

About 40 new students are divided between thirteen area districts. Normangee has enrolled the most students so far. They've added 12 evacuee children to their roster.

But that's not a final number; more evacuees are expected to enroll over the next few days.

Several schools are preparing to resume classes after being shut down in Rita's wake.

Willis, New Waverly and Huntsville all start classes Thursday. Trinity and Coldspring-Oakhurst Consolidated will both re-open Monday, October 3.
