One day after the daughter of 79 year old Mary Davis reported her missing, the elderly woman was found dead Tuesday afternoon.

Police discovered Davis' body in a ditch off North Parker street Tuesday afternoon. Her cause of death has not been released. Judge Margaret Meece says there was no sign of trauma but the body will be sent for an autopsy.

Right now police do not suspect foul play and say Davis suffered from Alzheimers disease.

Ms. Davis's body was found about three blocks away from her house.
Her family says she would never have walked out of her house alone, as a matter of fact she almost never leaves her house. So, investigators really aren't sure how Ms. Davis ended up in a grassy field on North Parker Street in Bryan.

Judge Margaret Meece says there weren't any obvious signs of foul play, but she did order an autopsy. Police are hoping the autopsy will reveal some answers about Ms. Davis's death. Those results won't be back for about two weeks.

Bryan police are still investigating but they admit they really don't have any solid leads. Ms. Davis's body will be released to her family on Thursday.

News 3 also spoke with residents on North Parker street who say they're all very close and were surprised that Davis went unnoticed in their neighborhood.
