Authorities are now saying the human remains found Friday in Grimes County may be several years old.
The skeletal remains were found in a densely wooded area off County Road 234 South of Shiro.
Grimes County officials say the bones appear to be more than 10 years old, and probably never would've never been discovered had some workers who were clearing the area not stumbled upon them.
So far, authorities say no gender, race or cause of death is known.
But the remains have been sent to a forensic lab at the University of North Texas in Denton.

I had a judge from San Antonio tell me one time that this area is well known in the state for it's meth kitchens. That's pretty disturbing considering what a small community it is.

I have been living near the area and traveling this county road for the past 18 years and now feels uncomfortable for the first time since this has happened. I have heard of this type of tragedy elsewhere, but never thought it would happen in our community. I'm praying for whom ever family is envolved not only the deceased but the one that thought this tragedy would always be hidden. We may never know what really happened, but for sure God knows all.
