A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Madision, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, & Washington Counties until 8am Saturday morning. Severe thunderstorm potential has passed the Brazos Valley for the night. A few storms with heavy rain, thunder, lightning will continue to be possible through 3am.
It sounds like something out of an R-rated movie, but College Station Police are investigating a savage assault on the road.
Authorities believe it started as an argument between two men in the Brazos County community of Brushy near Burleson County. When one of the men, a 55-year-old, tried to drive away from the tiff, the suspect reportedly jumped in the truck bed.
As the 55-year-old was driving, the suspect allegedly smashed in the truck's windows, and by the time the truck got inside the city limits, the suspect apparently got into the truck cab and beat the victim over the head with a claw hammer.
The suspect then fled in a light blue older model car.
The victim suffered deep cuts and went to College Station Medical Center with what authorities say were non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is underway.
