DPS troopers cleared the scene of an accident after they say they had to rescue a man after his truck slammed into a tree.
The accident happened around 6:00 p.m. in Brazos County near the intersection of Tabor Road and Edge School House Road.
Brazos County DPS, Fire Department and EMS responded.
Troopers say a 22-year-old Franklin man was driving his 2004 Chevy pickup down Northeast Tabor Road. Officials say the driver was speeding and veered off the side of the road and hit a large tree and some brush.
Brazos County fire department had to cut through the tree and cut out the driver’s side of the car to get to the driver.
He was sent to the hospital for a broken leg.
Troopers say the driver might be cited for speeding.
