WATCHES AND WARNINGS

Visitors Center Site Toured by Bryan Council

The much-discussed Bryan Visitor's Center was talked about outside the confines of the municipal building.

As part of their workshop, councilmembers toured the square where the visitors center could be constructed. While no decisions were made, the council discussed using the logistics of refurbishing existing buildings for the center, or possibly building newer facilities.

Mayor Ernie Wentrcek says involving the entire community is critical to the success of the project.

"When you bring in the garden aspect of it, the manning of the facility on a daily basis, I think the community as a whole can play a big role in bringing this together," said Wentrcek, "and this will be a facility that people will use seven-days-a-week, 365 days-a-year."

Possible add-ons to the center include a gazebo, garden, and historic photos of the city.
