A&M High in Higher Education Rankings

An annual ranking of universities has Texas A&M near the top of the leaderboard.

US News and World Report examines academic excellence at over 400 universities across the country. Their ratings place A&M at number 60 overall for their 2006 edition.

Here are some the highly-rated Texas schools:

-Rice University -- 17th
-University of Texas -- 52nd
-Texas A&M University -- T-60th
-Southern Methodist University -- T-71
-Baylor University -- T-78
-Texas Christian University -- T-97

Harvard, Princeton and Yale were the top three in the rankings.

Another prominent magazine, Forbes, has come out with their list of the top business schools. A&M's Mays Business School came in 24th overall and 9th on their list of public schools.
