All lanes of University Drive were shut down this morning after an accident.
Around 2:40 A.M., College Station Police Officers arrived at the 1500 block of University Drive East. Upon arrival, officers found that a 2004 Ford F-150 truck had been traveling east in the west bound lanes of University Drive.
At some point, the vehicle crossed over the center median and moved into the east bound lanes. The vehicle struck several trees causing the driver, 19 year old Beau Michael Bretigam of College Station, to be thrown from the truck. Bretigam was found unconscious in the parking lot of the Scott and White Clinic.
No one else was in the truck.
Bretigam was taken to St. Joseph's hospital where he is being treated for non life-threatening injures.
The College Station Police Department Accident Investigation team was called to the scene and continues their investigation.
All lanes of University Drive between Glenhaven and Forest were closed from approximately 2:40 A.M. to 6:30 A.M.
At this time no charges have been filed against Bretigam.
