Huntsville's new school superintendent already has a week on the job under his belt and he says he feeling right at home.
Dr. Richard Montgomery's previous job was in Windsor, New York.
But coming back to Texas wasn't a culture shock. Montgomery is a Texas native and received his doctorate at Texas A&M.
Montgomery says he's working on learning the needs of the district.
" I'm putting together a superintendent council for excellence. It will be a broad cross-section of the community so that the community tells me what they feel about kids and the schools and why we're here," said Montgomery.
Montgomery says he's spent his week getting to know the staff and the Huntsville schools.
